MENASHA, Wis. – In order to identify possible locations where round gobies might be able to bypass the Menasha lock and dam and enter Lake Winnebago, state officials will apply a non-toxic yellow-green dye Thursday morning to the Menasha lock canal.

The dye is not harmful to fish or other organisms and will not stain boat hulls, experts said. It will, however, be highly visible and might persist in the lock canal into the Memorial Day weekend.
