The Michigan State Waterways Commission will hold its next regular meeting Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the Radisson Hotel, 111 North Grand Ave. in Lansing. The work session will begin at 10:30 a.m.  and the regular meeting will begin at 1 p.m.

Topics for the two meetings will include, but are not limited to project updates, bottomland leases policy review with the Department of Environmental Quality, review of subcommittee reports, resolution of support, a grant-in-aid summary, election of chair and co-chair for 2017, committee reports and general updates. The complete meeting agendas can be found on the Michigan State Waterways Commission website online at www.michigan.gov/dnr under Commissions, Boards and Committees.

The Michigan State Waterways Commission is an advisory group created by Public Act 451 of 1994, Part 781 to address issues concerning public boating opportunities in the state of Michigan, including acquisition, construction and maintenance of recreational harbors, channels, docking and launching facilities and administration of commercial docks in the Straits of Mackinac, and to advise on regulations and grant funding for the Great Lakes Harbors of Refuge.
